May 22 in profile
In a small handful of years the Sun is still finishing Taurus as May 22 begins, so the year and time decide the sign, and a chart settles it; there is no hybrid cusp sign. For nearly everyone, though, this is the first degree of Gemini. The mutable air sign is ruled by Mercury, and its first decan repeats both, Gemini for sub-sign and Mercury for sub-ruler. Early degrees show the sign fresh, quick and a little scattered.
Curiosity is constant. A May 22 Gemini opens three browser tabs to answer one question and ends up reading about something else entirely. They learn fast by asking, overhearing and trying, and they love a fact that changes how they see a familiar thing. Classes suit them if they are lively; slow lectures lose them by minute ten. The rare Taurus-born share the curiosity but study one topic longer.
Freedom means room to move, mentally and physically. They resist fixed schedules, like jobs with varied days and keep friendships in several different circles so no single group defines them. Being told to stick to one thing feels like a cage. The growth edge is choosing one interest a year to follow all the way through, which gives the quick mind something solid to stand on.
Taurus or Gemini?
The Sun moves from Taurus into Gemini around May 22, and the exact moment shifts from year to year. Between 1930 and 2040 it happened during the UTC day of May 22 in 2 years out of 111, at a median of 01:15 UTC. In 109 years it was already Gemini all day. So a May 22 birthday is Taurus or Gemini depending on the year and the time, never a blend of the two.

Your Moon sign depends on the year
The Sun is in the same place on May 22 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Gemini
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Gemini gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.

Asked about May 22

May 22 can be Taurus or Gemini. The Sun changed from Taurus to Gemini during this date in 2 of the 111 years from 1930 to 2040, so the answer depends on the birth year, time and place. The year-by-year list above shows when; a birth chart gives the exact answer.
