Personality and temperament
Taurus lives through the senses and is not shy about it. The good olive oil, the cashmere jumper bought once and worn for a decade, the playlist unchanged since university: these are how the sign keeps its balance. Fixed earth gives Taurus a deep need for stability, built out of routines, possessions and people it has tested over years. Visit a Taurus friend and you will be fed, and probably told where the bread came from.
Venus rules Taurus, which explains the eye for beauty and the appetite for pleasure, and the Moon is exalted here, which is why the sign is so steadying to be around. In a crisis the Taurus makes tea, rings the plumber and does not raise their voice. Change is another matter. Ask a Taurus to rearrange the office, move house at short notice or switch phone brands, and you meet a wall of polite refusal.
That stubbornness is the shadow side of loyalty. Taurus holds on to jobs, partners, opinions and grudges well past the point where letting go would help. Scorpio, the opposite sign, teaches what Taurus avoids: some things have to end before something better can grow. A mature Taurus keeps its patience and warmth, and learns to choose change on its own terms instead of waiting for it to arrive.
