October 12 zodiac sign
On October 12 the Sun is near 18° Libra, late in the Aquarius decan, and in a few years it crosses into the Mercury-ruled third, so this birthday mixes Saturn’s steadiness with a lighter, talkative note.

October 12 in profile
This is the edge between Libra’s middle and late thirds. In most years the Sun is still in the second decan, with Aquarius as sub-sign and Saturn (modern: Uranus) as sub-ruler; occasionally it has reached 20° and the Gemini decan under Mercury. An October 12 Libra therefore tends to combine composure with chattiness. The Venus core wants companionship and pleasant surroundings, and at this degree the sign is experienced enough to know which people and places restore it.
Attraction starts with conversation. They fall for wit, good manners and someone who can disagree without sulking. Early dates are well planned: a gallery, then a small restaurant with soft lighting. In a relationship they keep score of fairness rather than favours, and will raise an imbalance calmly. Big gestures matter less to them than consistent small ones. A partner who brings them coffee made exactly right earns more credit than flowers.
Rest needs beauty and quiet company. A bath with a good book, a long lunch with one friend or a walk in a well-kept park all work better than a loud night out. They often forget to rest until they are short-tempered. The useful habit is booking downtime in the diary with the same respect as a meeting, so it is not given away.
Libra all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Libra for the whole of October 12, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around September 24 and October 22.
Your Moon sign depends on the year
The Sun is in the same place on October 12 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Libra
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Libra gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. For an October 12 birthday, in the Aquarius decan, Aquarius is a natural match. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.
A gift for an October 12 birthday
A spa afternoon for two, or a set of good bath oils with a thick towel, so that rest feels like a pleasure rather than one more duty.
Asked about October 12
What zodiac sign is October 12?
October 12 is Libra in every year: the Sun is at about 17°–21° Libra that day, in the sign’s 2nd decan.
Is October 12 a cusp birthday?
No. The Sun is well inside Libra on October 12. The cusp days, when the Sun changes sign, fall around September 24 and October 22. Astrology has no blended cusp signs anyway: at any moment the Sun is in one sign.
What decan is October 12?
October 12 falls in the 2nd decan of Libra. In the triplicity system we use, that decan belongs to Aquarius and its ruler Saturn (modern: Uranus), which colours the Libra Sun with a little of Aquarius. In some years the Sun crosses into the next decan during the day.
Your birthday is only the Sun
An October 12 birthday tells you where the Sun was. The Moon, the Rising sign and eight more planets each sit somewhere of their own, and they depend on the year, the hour and the place. The free calculator shows all of them.
