October 2 zodiac sign
With the Sun close to 9° Libra, October 2 sits at the far edge of the Venus decan, and in some years it crosses into the second, giving the sign’s charm a slightly cooler, more considered finish.

October 2 in profile
The ninth degree is the last stretch of the first decan, so Venus still governs both sign and sub-division, though in some years the Sun has already reached 10° and the Aquarius decan. Either way, this is Libra close to its beginning: air, cardinal, quick to make a social move and keen that everything look and feel right. An October 2 Libra tends to treat beauty as a basic need, on the same level as sleep and food, and is easily unsettled by ugliness or rudeness.
Play, for them, is usually collaborative. They are the friend who suggests a themed dinner, then quietly does the place cards. They enjoy arranging things, whether flowers, a playlist or the colours in a photo, and they like an audience of one or two rather than a crowd. Creative projects go best with a partner, since working alone lets them polish forever without finishing.
Generosity comes out as attention. They remember how someone takes their tea, lend the good coat without being asked and introduce people who should know each other. They find it harder to receive help and may insist on splitting every bill to the penny. The growth edge is letting a favour stay unreturned for a while, which allows the friendship to tilt in their favour now and then.
Libra all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Libra for the whole of October 2, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around September 24 and October 22.
Your Moon sign depends on the year
The Sun is in the same place on October 2 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Libra
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Libra gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.

Asked about October 2
What zodiac sign is October 2?
October 2 is Libra in every year: the Sun is at about 7°–11° Libra that day, in the sign’s 1st decan.
Is October 2 a cusp birthday?
No. The Sun is well inside Libra on October 2. The cusp days, when the Sun changes sign, fall around September 24 and October 22. Astrology has no blended cusp signs anyway: at any moment the Sun is in one sign.
What decan is October 2?

Your birthday is only the Sun
An October 2 birthday tells you where the Sun was. The Moon, the Rising sign and eight more planets each sit somewhere of their own, and they depend on the year, the hour and the place. The free calculator shows all of them.
