December 24 in profile
Capricorn at 2° is new to its own season and very earnest about it. The cardinal earth sign wants to begin structures, and the first decan, with Capricorn as sub-sign and Saturn as sub-ruler, adds a double helping of patience and caution. The early degrees show the sign unpolished: serious before it learns to be relaxed about being serious. A December 24 Capricorn usually feels older than their years, and grows into the feeling.
They learn by method. Notes are kept in order, courses finished, exams prepared weeks ahead. They prefer a teacher with real authority and distrust shortcuts. Knowledge is valued for what it can build: a qualification, a skill that earns, a trade mastered over years. Their bookshelves hold manuals, histories and reference works more than novels, and the textbooks stay long after the course ends.
Independence for them means self-sufficiency. They want to owe nothing, to manage their own affairs, to be the one others lean on. Asking for help feels like failure, even when help is freely offered. Many pay their own way early and keep careful accounts from the first payslip. Accepting support is a skill as well, and people often feel closer to them after being allowed to give something back.
Capricorn all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Capricorn for the whole of December 24, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around December 22 and January 19.
Your Moon sign depends on the year
The Sun is in the same place on December 24 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Capricorn
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Capricorn gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.

Asked about December 24
What zodiac sign is December 24?
December 24 is Capricorn in every year: the Sun is at about 1°–4° Capricorn that day, in the sign’s 1st decan.
Is December 24 a cusp birthday?
No. The Sun is well inside Capricorn on December 24. The cusp days, when the Sun changes sign, fall around December 22 and January 19. Astrology has no blended cusp signs anyway: at any moment the Sun is in one sign.
What decan is December 24?
December 24 falls in the 1st decan of Capricorn. In the triplicity system we use, that decan belongs to Capricorn and its ruler Saturn, which colours the Capricorn Sun with a little of Capricorn.
Your birthday is only the Sun
A December 24 birthday tells you where the Sun was. The Moon, the Rising sign and eight more planets each sit somewhere of their own, and they depend on the year, the hour and the place. The free calculator shows all of them.
