December 16 in profile
This is Sagittarius in its experienced phase. At 24° the sign has taken in a great deal and begins to anticipate the Capricorn concern with what it will all amount to. The third decan’s Leo sub-sign makes the Sun co-ruler with Jupiter, so personal pride and big-picture vision push in the same direction. A December 16 Sagittarius tends to want a legacy, though one with laughter, travel and company built in rather than a quiet monument.
Money is a tool for generosity and style. They treat friends to dinners, buy one excellent coat instead of five cheap ones, and splurge on experiences that become stories. Budgets are written with enthusiasm and abandoned by mid-month. When money is tight they stay cheerful, which helps, but they rarely track where it went. Bank statements stay unopened for weeks. Generous tips are a point of pride.
Ambition here aims high and far. They picture a business with branches in several cities, a book that gets translated, a role that comes with a title. The Leo decan wants recognition; Jupiter wants scope. Progress is real but uneven, and small, safe goals bore them. Breaking a ten-year aim into yearly, visible milestones gives them the applause they crave along the way and keeps the dream practical.
Sagittarius all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Sagittarius for the whole of December 16, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around November 23 and December 21.

The Sun is in the same place on December 16 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Sagittarius
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Sagittarius gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. For a December 16 birthday, in the Leo decan, Leo is a natural match. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.
A gift for a December 16 birthday
