December 17 in profile
Twenty-five degrees is late in the sign, and it shows as seasoned judgement. Sagittarius is still mutable fire under Jupiter, still restless and frank, but experience has trimmed some of the wilder edges. The third decan adds Leo and the Sun, so taste, presentation and a certain sense of occasion matter. With Capricorn approaching, a practical streak appears too. A December 17 Sagittarius makes choices that look spontaneous and are usually well grounded.
Decisions are swift and rarely second-guessed. In a restaurant they order before the waiter finishes reciting the specials. At work they choose a direction, own it and move on. Long committee discussions exhaust them. When a choice goes wrong they admit it openly, change course and laugh about it, which earns more trust than caution would. Colleagues learn to bring them two options, never ten.
Their taste leans towards the warm and the bold: deep reds, gold details, well-worn leather, a lamp that throws good light. They like objects with presence and a story. Style is part theatre, part comfort. A single striking piece on the wall beats a dozen tasteful prints in their eyes. Buying less but better is the habit worth building, so each piece earns its place and the home feels curated rather than crowded with souvenirs.
Sagittarius all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Sagittarius for the whole of December 17, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around November 23 and December 21.

Compatible signs for a Sagittarius
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Sagittarius gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. For a December 17 birthday, in the Leo decan, Leo is a natural match. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.
