December 2 in profile
Ten degrees marks the start of the middle stretch, where Sagittarius settles into its typical form: direct, restless, sure that the next horizon holds the answer. The second decan takes Aries as its sub-sign, so Mars joins Jupiter, and the fire turns from warm to hot. In some years the Sun is still in the final degree of the first decan. Antares lies within a degree; tradition treats the red star as the watcher of the west, a sign of daring and occasional rashness.
In an argument a December 2 Sagittarius says the thing everyone else was circling, then wonders why the room went quiet. Anger flares fast and burns out fast. They prefer a shouted five minutes to a week of polite coldness, and they apologise once they see a point, though rarely before. Sulking baffles them, and they read it as a tactic.
Under pressure they move. A deadline turns into a brisk walk, a sudden gym visit or a reorganised kitchen at eleven at night. The risk is scattering energy across five fixes when one would do. What helps most is a pause of ten minutes before replying to anything that stings, long enough for Mars to cool and for Jupiter’s sense of proportion to return.
Sagittarius all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Sagittarius for the whole of December 2, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around November 23 and December 21.
Your Moon sign depends on the year
The Sun is in the same place on December 2 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Sagittarius
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Sagittarius gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. For a December 2 birthday, in the Aries decan, Aries is a natural match. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.
A gift for a December 2 birthday
Boxing or fencing, as a taster session with a proper coach: something physical with rules gives the Mars side of this decan an outlet and makes a good story afterwards.
Asked about December 2
What zodiac sign is December 2?

Is December 2 a cusp birthday?
No. The Sun is well inside Sagittarius on December 2. The cusp days, when the Sun changes sign, fall around November 23 and December 21. Astrology has no blended cusp signs anyway: at any moment the Sun is in one sign.
What decan is December 2?

Your birthday is only the Sun
A December 2 birthday tells you where the Sun was. The Moon, the Rising sign and eight more planets each sit somewhere of their own, and they depend on the year, the hour and the place. The free calculator shows all of them.
