May 8 in profile
Seventeen degrees into Taurus, the sign is mature and sure-footed. Venus rules the whole sign, so beauty, pleasure and security are central, and the fixed earth quality adds stubborn endurance. Its second decan, the Virgo stretch under Mercury’s sub-rulership, contributes analysis and a fondness for being useful. A May 8 Taurus is often the competent one in the room, unflashy, accurate and very hard to rattle once they understand the task.
They recharge through the body first. A long sleep, a meal cooked slowly, an hour in the garden with dirt under the nails: these reset them better than any screen. Crowded weekends drain them, and they need a full day at home after a busy social stretch. Mercury adds a mental side, so a crossword or a familiar novel often joins the cup of tea.
Risk is something they research. A May 8 Taurus will change careers or move countries, but only after reading every review, visiting twice and saving a cushion. Their courage is the slow kind: staying with a hard project, keeping a promise when it costs them. The useful habit is setting a decision date, so careful research ends in a choice instead of another spreadsheet.
Taurus all day
In every year from 1930 to 2040 the Sun was in Taurus for the whole of May 8, in every time zone. This is not a cusp birthday: the nearest changes of sign fall around April 21 and May 20.

The Sun is in the same place on May 8 every year; the Moon is not. It changes sign every two and a half days, so people who share this birthday can have any of the twelve Moon signs. Compatible signs for a Taurus
Sun-sign compatibility starts from the element. Taurus gets on most easily with its own element and with the two sextile signs, and feels the strongest pull from its opposite. For a May 8 birthday, in the Virgo decan, Virgo is a natural match. The full charts decide how a real pairing feels.
A gift for a May 8 birthday
A night away somewhere quiet and green, a cottage or a small inn with good food, where the only plan is a long walk and an early dinner.
